Welcome to the Hope for Lugazi Website.
We are a family charity from West Sussex working in the town of Lugazi in Uganda. Ugandans see education as a way out of poverty and making a success of their lives. The problem is that Education in Uganda, unlike the UK, costs money and therefore becomes unattainable for some poorer families.
This is the case especially if parents have died and children are being cared for by aunts and uncles or pastors. Difficult choices have to be made and some children get behind in their education or even more seriously are not able to afford education at all for significant periods. Working together John Ray and Edward Nsimbi have sought to address this issue.
A large team has now grown up in Uganda and supporters of Hope for Lugazi can be found in various parts of the UK. We have recently expanded the work to incorporate the Bible Fellowship of Malawi (BFM).
We hope you enjoy looking around at the various features. Please contact us to find out more information.
